Description & Uses

Flexipoint is a trowelable, custom coloured, permanently flexible adhesive that is used to point the ridge caps of tiles roofs. It comprises water based organic polymers and mineral poxxolans that hydrate to form a strong yet flexible cement.

A shelf life of 12 months may be expected for the product where it is stored indoors in its original unopened packaging at temperatures ranging between 3 and 40 degrees Celsius.

In temperate conditions the product may be expected to be rain resistant within 2 hours of application. However it should be noted that longer cure time is required when temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius or relative humidity is above 70%.

Application Procedure and Equipment

Flexipoint™ parallels the traditional method for bedding and pointing tile roofs.It should be applied by trowel at a uniform thickness of 3-5mm over normal 4:1 sand/cement bedding cement.The bedding cement should be finished plumb and be free of holes or voids.The Flexipoint™ pointing may be applied over wet (just laid) or fully cured bedding.

Provided Flexipoint™ has been applied by a qualified tradesperson, Flexitech warrants Flexipoint™ will withstand normally occurring roof movement without cracking or disbondment for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase.Except for normal wear and tear factors, Flexipoint™ will not degrade and will provide sound service in residential tile roof applications.
